“Fast dissolving” is useful only when the claim describes a preparation result that the plant can reproduce. Dry PAM may wet quickly yet still need controlled hydration before dosing. Request a defined test method and compare usable solution quality as well as the time recorded on a stopwatch.
Ask what the quoted time means
Determine whether the claimed preparation time refers to initial wetting, visual disappearance of granules or a solution suitable for treatment. Request the concentration, water temperature, mixing conditions and endpoint used in that claim. Without these details, two preparation-time values may describe different operations. Avoid treating a short time on a brochure as a guaranteed tank cycle. Match the candidate to the representative trial conditions before negotiating a supply commitment.
Separate particle wetting from polymer hydration
Powder addition rate and wetting arrangement affect agglomeration. Feeding too quickly can create gel-coated clumps even when the product is otherwise suitable. Conversely, a visually smooth solution may not reproduce the expected performance if preparation is incomplete. Compare the candidate and incumbent using the same controlled addition method. Record visible residues and application response. Do not compensate for poor wetting by unreviewed high-shear mixing that may affect the prepared polymer and invalidate the comparison.
Test at the limiting plant condition
Evaluate the coldest or most difficult preparation water expected in normal service, as well as the usual operating condition. The system must provide sufficient hydration and solution inventory at peak consumption. A laboratory result in warm low-salinity water does not prove suitability for winter plant water. Review cold-water preparation and saline dilution-water screening when those conditions apply.
Buy against usable capacity and treatment cost
Compare the solution that can actually be delivered to the process during an operating cycle. Include preparation losses, residue management, required aging and the successful active dose. A product that prepares faster but needs materially more polymer may not reduce operating cost. State the tested preparation conditions in the approval record and ask the supplier to confirm the intended method. Keep treatment performance as a release criterion; preparation speed by itself is not product qualification.
Purchase review worksheet
Complete the evidence column with measured values, observations or an agreed document reference. An unanswered item is a reason to clarify the sample or quotation, not to assume that two products are equivalent. Keep the same worksheet with the trial record so the purchasing and operating teams approve the same conditions.
| Review item | Evidence to obtain | Decision before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Claim | Endpoint and complete preparation method | Time values are directly comparable |
| Plant water | Temperature and conductivity under difficult conditions | Preparation claim holds under the intended use |
| Useful solution | Residue, aging and actual treatment result | Faster preparation retains the required performance |
Request a focused PAM flocculant quotation
Send the feed source, solids concentration, pH or conductivity, operating temperature and separator type alongside the monthly quantity, package preference and destination. Include the specific observations in the worksheet above. If a current grade is being replaced, provide its available technical data and the active dose rather than only the trade name. Commercial availability, sample quantities and delivered terms should be confirmed for the selected product, not inferred from an illustrative application.
Arrange the comparison through the PAM trial planner and review quality documents and supply requirements before committing to a shipment. Gongyi Xinqi Polymer Co., Ltd. can review the application information and discuss a suitable sample range. Application suitability remains conditional on representative testing; a polymer recommendation is not a guarantee of plant performance or regulatory compliance.
